Tuckys Photography

Yippeez~!

Very pleased w Tuck Hong's work. Initially we din know exactly what we were doing and how about we should do to make our pre-wedding shoot w Tuckz different. Thankfully, Tuckz being very experience, has guided and led us into the mood. Our shoot has got many different styles but all incoporated the life-style feel thus making every single shoot very natural. We were not supposed to pose for shoots...instead, we were asked to play among ourselves and he'll capture all our classic moments. Well Tuckz did wan certain pics with unique poses...and usually they are difficult to do. I almost break my back! LOLz...

Anyway... got back all our pics fr Tuckz to view so that we can pick out those that we wan for the album. As usual...brainstorming time... managed to pick out 30+ pics while foregoing the rest of the 400++ pics... *sadz* Cant choose all tho'.....

After doing 2 photoshoots... I've come to a conclusion....no matter how much fun it can be, it's F**KIN' tiring!!! Gosh...don't think i'll wanna do any photoshoot in the near future....

The pics are out~!~!~!

Collected the DVD with 200+ pics of our 1st photoshoot on Sunday. I managed to sort out 40+ of my fav while Nig is in camp. He wont be able to see the pics til Wed when he can finally come home. Whahaha... Hopefully we will be able to pick out together 40 best shoots peacefully...LOLz...

It was a pretty hard decison to make for picking just 40 pieces as all the pictures were really fantastic. Wonder y only 40? Cos we are trying to stick to our budget. FYI, every additional piece is $90 and our package has only given us 26 pieces. Sad right?

Anyway this is only our 1st shoot. This is done by our bridal studio which was part of the package. We have actually engaged a journal photographer to do up another pre-wedding photoshoot which will occur next month. Im very excited abt the next photoshoot. Cant wait for the day to come faster. Hopefully we'll be able to get the pics fast too~!

Updates for July...

Well...finally we have done our photoshoot with French Bridal.

I like the studio shoot. We get to change into many outfits to take different style of pics. 80% of the pics turn out to be extremely good. Oh ya... regarding the orangy-red cheong sum, it turned out pretty good after the lace and breads are up. It didn't looked that orangy after the red laces were sewn. Thank God~!

The outdoor shoot is the most HORRIFYING experience to me.

It was a bloody hot afternoon, AND... i'm wearing an extremely heavy gown, running ard and posing with many "cute" and "lovely" six-legged friends~! It scare the shit out of me. OMG, all outdoor locations are filled with disturbing creatures!!! Just standing in the midst of some lavander looking grass, i thought that i've become one of the lead in the movie "BUG'S LIFE". There were ants, spiders and other creatures crawling on my gown and most importantly, there were many grasshoppers leaping for joy as i stood in their company. FAINTZ........

I'm very glad it's over.

I've collected my blue cheong sum fr Divine and is looking fwd now to our 2nd photoshoot with Tucky Photography in August.

Disappointment...

On Friday 22/06, i went to French bridal to see my MTM (made to measure) Cheongsum. Tho' i didnt pin alot of hope on this particular piece, i didnt expect it to be far worse than my minimum expectation. Well it isn't fully done up yet. They still have to sew on the lace and breads.

The main reason as to why it didnt even reach my min. standard is beacause of the color of the fabric. I wanted a red cheongsum not orangey-red. It is a huge difference to me. I hate orangey-red stuff! Be it a piece of fabric, paper or an object, i just cant accept the color. So can u imagine my entire evening gown is orangey-red in color!!! FAINTZ!!!! I was very disappointed. Tho' i could have highlighted it to the designer, i ended up just agreeing w the entire staffs there that it look very good on me. Now all i can do is to hope that after the lace and breads are up, it will look better and divert my attention away from the color. SADz......

All my hopes are now pinned on my blue Cheongsum from Divine Couture. So far after my 2nd fitting w them, the blue one still look v stunning on me. Haiz... I have to count on this piece of gown liao~!~!

Extremely Pleased...

Went for Divine's cheong sum 2nd fitting yesterday. Didn't expect that the lace which i've chosen can be made into such a beautiful gown. All thanks to Kim, the designer of Divine!

(My French Lace ---> Cost me $500!)

Can't wait for the entire piece to be ready. I've only managed to see & try the skeleton of the outfit and I'm already amazed by her work. Simply cant wait for the 3rd fitting in July. It's totally worth the money~! I'm glad that we didnt make a wrong choice of custom making another cheong sum for the wedding.

Just like my mum, we both have a cheong sum made to keep for the wedding. Mum's wedding cheong sum is still nicely kept. Too bad, neither my sis nor I can fit into it. She used to be so skinny! Hers was an elegant red lace with pink silk and it only cost her $160! Argh... I wished mine was that dirt cheap too...

WE HAVE SURVIVED................

We have finally survived our course for the weekend! As mentioned earlier, we went for E.E. (Engagement Encounter) for the past weekend.

Initially I went with lots of very pessimistic thoughts and is very septical about the course. Cos' i cant imagine having to sleep in different room from my darling + I would be having a room mate + we have no idea what to expect from it. Well... God has bless us. I had a very interesting room mate that click off pretty well with me. Tho' she seems like she doesnt have to sleep at all, she turned out to be a very chatty & nice lady whom i enjoyed her company.

As there are many things to be discussed and shared by the presenting couples and Fr. Arro, the course ran on a very tight schedule. We have to wake up like 6.30am and going to bed just before midnight. Even our meal breaks are very short so that every thing can run smoothly on time.

The peak of the course was at the end of it, not because it's going to end but seeing the presenting & house couples renew thier marriage vows in front of us. I was personally very touched to see couples married for so many years and are still deeply in love with each other.

The stuffs we did at EE was pretty interesting. It helps us to deepen our love for each other, to understand each other even further than what we have expected and also putting God into our relationship. I would say that this course was very enriching for the both of us despite having very little sleep throughout the entire 2 nights.

Nig & I went to bed at 7.30pm when we reached home last night. We "coma" til this morning 9am when i had to go for work. Now I very sick... lol~! Well...I still feel it worth our weekend there~!

Next Wkend BURN..............

Well, all i do everyday is to pray that the wkend and P.H. coming faster. Cos that's the only few days i get to spend quality time together with my Bao & family.

So... it was definately a hard decision when we had to choose to attend either M.P.C. (Marriage Preparation Coz) or E.E. (Engagement Encounter).

M.P.C. is a course that runs for six consecutive weeks, comprising three (half day) Sunday morning sessions at St Joseph 's Institution (SJI) and three other sessions are held at the homes of Presenting Couples either in the evenings or in the weekends. Each session lasts over 4 or more hours.

E.E. is a 3D/2N course that is held on weekends. It starts on Friday 8.00p.m. and ends between 5.30 and 6.00 p.m. on Sunday with a Mass for the participants of that weekend.

Many people asked me why we got to attend such a coz. That's becos' I'm a Catholic, Nigel is in the midst of convertion to become a Catholic (currently attending R.C.I.A.) and we're getting married in a Catholic church! In order to receive the Sacrament of Matrimony, attending and graduating from courses like these is necessary. So we've got NO choice~!!!!!

Argh...eventually we chose E.E.!!! Cos having to attend 6wks of conselling is like no joke boy.... But to think that my next wkend is going to be burn up and worst of all, most of my gfs are in town, I AM FUCKIN' UPSET~!

Oh not forgetting, Bao is staying in camp for his boys passing out of coz thingy this wkend!!!! Means 2 bloody wkends BURN!!! And i wont get to see him till Mon afternoon...

AHHHHHH.... how great can that be?!?!

FRENCH LACE

Went to Royal Fabric at Arab Street yesterday. After an hour of messing up several pieces of lace fabric, finally made up my mind with a navy blue.

Cost me a bomb!

Can u imagine a piece of 3.4m fabric cost $500!!! Nigel was a little upset, not becos of the price but that i didn't wait for him to choose w me. He felt that i've made a haste decision on the purchase.

Cant wait to meet the designer to see what we can do this this piece of fabric!!!

~~BLINK BLINK~~

From 1400hrs to 1730hrs, I've tried like close to 20 wedding & night gowns!!! Zipping in & out of them is no joke. They weigh so bloody heavy! Thankfully the designer has an assistant that helps the bride dress. Can't imagine myself doing it on my own. I would probably take 10 hours.

Out of all the wedding gowns, there are 2 in particular that Nigel & I fell in love with. One is a off-white, full lace, tranlucent, mermaid-cut gown which gives a very elegent yet sexy feel. The other is a white, lace with crystal, empire-cut gown which is very princessy. Each gave me a different look. However, our final decision was the empire-cut gown cos it has more of a wedding feel than the other. Plus Nigel feels that it matches better with his No. 1 uniform. *SLUT* All he thinks of is whether the gown matches him and not me... haha!!! Truthfully i like that empire-cut gown too...

For evening wear, i've choosen a turqoise empire-cut gown and a maroon cheongsam. However, i don't think i'll be wearing the turqoise gown during the banquet. We have decided to custom make a lace cheongsam from Divine. haha... The desinger of Divine specialise in making lacey, low back gowns and cheongsams. I'm confident that she will make one gorgeous lacey cheongsam for me! *grin*

Nigel only took like 20mins to choose what he would be wearing. Fast ya?!?! Well this happens to all groom cos the entire wedding is about the BRIDE!!! LOLz...

Honestly... most guests who attend any wedding will first look at the bride. Trying to check out if she is pretty. Who looks at the groom? Well... I'm not stating that no one would but the attention is mostly on the bride. People simply just pay more attention to what the bride wears than what the groom.

Well Nigel has accepted the fact of ME being the highlight of our wedding. He has resign to his fate. LOLz...

9 Months to go...

Nothing's been done!!!

Supposed to arrange for a bridal fitting during mid of March but sadly the bridal studio is already fully booked til early April. All thanks to that irritating fucking slow Nigel Goh!!!! Told him to apply leave for March fitting since early Jan but nothing was done til the last week of Feb! I cant make an appointment if Nigel cant confirm a date on his side. This is so damn frustrating!!! Now i'll have to wait til April. By then, most of this season's new design would have already been taken by others. People might wanna call me "kiasu" but which bride doesnt wanna look her best on her most important day??? Haiz...

I have got weight issues.... simply cant get my fats to go away. Been training very hard with my trainer for coming 2 mths. I see him 3 times a week! And everytime, it's a torture! An hour of heavy weights, cardio and endless exercises... Well some frens said that i look more toned up but seriously i weigh heavier than before i started this exercising regime.

God u said, ask & it shall be given... I asked u many times but nothing is given!!!

I did my best to TRY to follow a clean diet and work out as often as i can... but no result leh.... How ar??? Cant go on like this.... I must look for other alternative while continuing this!!!

HELP....!!!

We have officially settled our videography & photography!!!

Hip Hip Hooray...!!!

Enchanting...
Oriental bridal Show 2007

Attended the Oriental Bridal Show on 21st. I would say that it's definately one of the best bridal show we have attended.

Food was excellent, service was top notch and mostly important, Divine Bridal Couture had displayed the best range of dresses i've ever seen. The sad part was that we've sign up with French Bridal.

This show was very different from the rest. It encourages participants to move around the entire hotel. Each programme was held at different parts of the hotel. They also did up 4 different styles of set-up for the banquet.

Lucky Draw prizes was average... neither jewellery nor wedding gown was one of the prizes. Almost strike the 1st prize of 1 night stay at their suite with complimentary of breakfast!!! When Emcee, Daryl David announced the first two and last number of the lucky pick, we turned around and stared at each other but sadly it wasn't us... (1st Prize no. 0020. Our no. 0090)Haiz... Bang balls!!!

We met ChinChin (my batch girl) at the show with her fiance (aka MaoMao). They have just signed up with the Oriental. Good choice!!! Looking forward to her wedding on 6th July 2007.

Well though we didn't win anything, it was a very pleasant day spent at the Oriental.

Full Of "Surprises"
HerWorld Bridal Show

Yesterday we attended the Bridal show at Marina Mandarin held by HerWorld Bridal Magazine. We registered ourselves around 1115hrs then roam around the area. Seems like everything isn't ready as the vendors are still setting up the place. There is this room where couples can vote for the best gown displayed by seven different bridal shops. We were surprised to see that the designers are still trying to put the gowns on the mannequins. Gosh...they didn't seems prepared at all!!!

After we realised that the fashion show will not start till 1330hrs we decided to head towards Marina Square to hunt for some food. We had half boiled eggs, kaya toasts, swee kueh and yam kueh at Kopitiam. As we'll trying to waste some time, we slowly ate and shopped around the mall. Argh... if we were to know that registration will take 2.5hrs, we will probably turn up just before the show. I woke up at 0930hrs to shower and prepare myself! Could have slept for another 2 hrs!!! *faintz*
Around 1300hrs we strolled back to the hotel. On the way back we met Kel. She was going to be one of the models for the show. Kinda cool to see a friend doing the show.
As we walked towards the show room trying to enter, one of the hotel's staff by the name of Kelvin sternly told Nigel that we are not allowed to enter yet. He then gave an annoyed look on his face after answering. Initially we thought that we might have pisses him off by trying to enter without asking but later on we saw him giving another couple a disgusting look after answering their queries as well. Having attended 4 bridal shows (inclusive of this one), I was pretty shocked to receive such unpleasant service. Usually during bridal shows, hotels and all other vendors would be trying their best to portray not just a positive image but rather an impressive one. To hotels, revenue earned for wedding banquet is definitely more than selling rooms. Hey...we are looking at minimum 20 to 60 thousand just for a four hours event.
The show wasn't fantastic as the gowns seems to be very common and mostly repeated from the other shows. After the show, they had a small buffet spread for the couples. Nothing fantastic from the spread. Then it was back to waiting and waiting.................
Honestly if not for the lucky draws, we probably would have left long ago. LOLz... Hmmm... didn't got picked but the prizes for this bridal show is damn attractive. 30 prizes. Top prize sponsored by Gold Heart Jewellery; a $5000+ worth of diamond jewellery set!!! Argh.... my heart bleeds when someone else's no. was announced! *sobz*
My view on this show......
  • Food is ok.
  • Hotel Service SUCK big time.
  • Event Planning is poor.
  • Bridal Show is ok.
  • HerWorld team are helpful.
  • Lucky Draw prizes are fantastic.

Overall - 5/10

Yeah... Just went to settle the deposit for the church. Cant imagine i actually took weeks just to get this done. Now we can finally say the location for the church wedding is confirm! LoLz...

Nigel & I are trying our very best to shed off some flabbies before we go & choose the gowns & suit... but sad to say that nothing has been done so far. Guess we will probably look like 2 fat cats sashaying down the aisle. God help us...!!!
